Congratulations
Your new hand-knit sweater is ready to wear! Each sweater is unique. You will find after repeated wearing, your sweater will take on the contours of your body for a comfy fit.
You will find, when you look at the inside of the sweater, small ends of different colours sticking out. All wool ends have been woven into the sweater , however, because of the unique properties of wool, you will find that after a few wearings, all of these ends will felt themselves to the inside of the sweater, so they are no longer noticeable.
Care and Washing
Natural wool has amazing fiber properties that must be protected when washing. Each thin fiber has microscopic barbels that help to provide loft to the fiber, which is why wool is so warm. Using a washing machine will agitate the sweater causing the fibers to compress and clump up, resulting in shrinkage and felting. The absolute best way to wash you sweater is to hand-wash it in slightly warm water using a gentle soap such as Woolite or Eucalan.
-
Do NOT wring the sweater. Gently squeeze the water out, and rinse once or twice.
-
Squeeze water out of sweater then roll up in a bath towel to remove more water.
-
Lay flat on a towel to dry.
-
Allow to dry completely. Do not hang damp sweater as it will alter the shape.
-
After 10 washings, replace the natural oils in the sweater by adding 1 TBSP olive oil to rinse water.
If necessary, you may also use dry cleaning. However, the dry cleaning process will dry out the fibers, removing the natural lanolin in the wool.

Hand wash only and lay flat to dry for best results
Itchiness
For some, wool cannot be worn next to the skin. The garment is meant to be worn as outerwear and should not be worn without a layer underneath.
